The Innocence Project of Texas (Innocence Texas or ITX) was founded in 2006 as nonprofit to provide free investigative and legal services to indigent Texas citizens who were convicted of crimes they did not commit.

ITX is operated with paid staff, law school students, volunteers, and pro bono attorneys. ITX is currently based in Fort Worth, Texas.

ITX is a member of the Innocence Network, an affiliation of organizations dedicated to providing pro bono legal and investigative services to individuals seeking to prove innocence of crimes for which they have been convicted, working to redress the causes of wrongful convictions, and supporting the exonerated after they are freed.
